When brainstorming how to visualize the problems that would make a financial advisor interested in working with a financial marketing company, my team and I conceptualized and developed the marketing trolls, Void N. Confused (someone who doesn’t know what to do with their marketing so they do nothing at all), Bernie Cash (someone who spends more and more money on things thinking that if they’re spending a lot, they’re doing a lot) and Dee I. Why (someone who tackles trying to do everything themselves and subsequently becomes overwhelmed). These portrayals helped our target audience to relate and identify with feeling these frustrations in their business development.

Character Creation

Snappy Kraken’s Creative Director, an in-house (and incredible) illustrator, brought these characters to life in a couple different styles. Initially textured for our brand video but also a comic style version for social posts and other subsequent needs.

Tradeshow Booth

Each of the 3 trolls were printed as a 3d cutout and copy was written to tell each of their stories. Each area was litered with physcial representations manifesting their story. We actually bought fake money and burned it! So much fun!

Brand Video

Snappy Kraken’s brand video centered around telling the character’s stories and their relationship to the advisor and how Snappy Kraken fit into the solution of those problems. We wrote the script in-house, storyboarded and then partnered with an animation company to execute.
